Lighting Designers Sutton Vane Associates restored important historical paintings at The Parish Church of St John the Baptist in Little Missenden using a Light Projects Evica EP40 projection system.

The Church has a range of medieval wall paintings described as an “exceptional ensemble of paintings of different periods and certainly of national importance” by the Courtauld Institute of Art.

These amazing paintings have been conserved, but due to their age have some parts missing. Sutton Vane Associates designed a projection system that could gently fade up and overlay colourful images of the original masterpieces over the existing paintings in a sequence that helps tell their story.

At the touch of a button, a visitor can experience the wonderful artwork and can see how it appeared in the past.

The Parish Church of St John the Baptist appointed Sutton Vane Associates as the lighting designers for their Heritage Lottery Funded Project to develop a new, flexible and energy efficient lighting scheme.

Light Projects supplied the Evica EP40 40W Effects Projection System and provided much helpful support during the installation and programming of this complex and demanding project.

“We are delighted with the Evica EP40 40W Effects Projection System that Light Projects supplied. Light Projects were very supportive during the challenging installation stage”
