The Great Tapestry of Scotland is one of the world’s largest community arts projects hand-stitched by over 1,000 people across Scotland. Measuring 143 metres long, it comprises 160 linen panels and 300 miles of wool.

The Tapestry, which tells the story of Scotland’s history, heritage and culture, is now housed in a dedicated Gallery and visitor centre designed by Page/Park Architects in Galashiels in the heart of the Scottish Borders. As part of the project, Atelier Ten were commissioned for the lighting design and specified hundreds of metres of our Trueflex LEDBar to provide adaptable display case lighting.

The Trueflux Lensed LEDBar profile system combines full spectrum LEDs with a frosted 30° linear lens to cast a soft directional light that gently diffuses across the face of the tapestries. Adjustable mount brackets allow bars to be angled precisely while the remote DALI dimming drivers provide light intensity regulation for impact, drama or conservation control.

Trueflux LEDBars are manufactured in our UK factory in custom lengths (65 to 2015mm) with a choice of LEDs in three colour temperatures, three LED densities and five cover options. The 30° lens is ideal for grazing while the 60° is used for wider illumination. Clear covers provide maximum indirect illumination, Frosted create a softer edge and Opal for a fully diffused look.

It is also available with a IP65 housing for exterior or damp area use.
